Dr. Charlie Law’s Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Clinic held bi-monthly at UCP Huntsville Therapy Center
“I’m excited to join UCP, not just because of the emphasis on excellent physical medicine and rehabilitation services, but also because of the opportunity to build and sustain lifelong relationships with the children and adults we’ll serve. Meeting physical needs is very important, but understanding and addressing the emotional challenges faced by individuals with disabilities is crucial as well.” -Dr. Charlie Law
UCP Huntsville is proud to announce an important addition to our continuum of services for children and adults with special needs, Dr. Charlie Law’s Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Clinic at the UCP Therapy Center.
The program’s family-focused approach to care is designed to meet the health and wellness needs of the individual while enhancing the caregiving abilities of families.
The Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Clinic provides a new level of care and service to children and adults living with disabilities by offering a variety of specialized services focused on comprehensive and coordinated care to reduce the symptoms caused by motor disabilities.
These services include evaluation and diagnostics, pain management, spasticity management, orthotics and prosthetics, and care coordination. Physical, occupational, and speech therapies and assistive technology referrals will be provided as appropriate by UCP therapists.
Dr. Charlie Law of Birmingham, who practiced medicine at Children’s Hospital and UAB for 14 years and served as the director of rehabilitation services, will hold the Huntsville satellite clinic at the UCP Therapy Center.
Dr. Law is board-certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and is one of only two physicians in Alabama with board certification in Pediatric and Adult Rehabilitation. Dr. Law, whose practice is located at United Ability, has partnered with UCP Huntsville in order to expand his services to North Alabama families and spare them the time and expense of traveling to Birmingham for specialized services.
